Zinc Electroplating
A uniform layer of pure zinc that protects ferrous substrates without compromising threads, tight tolerances or surface quality.
PROCESS PRINCIPLE
Cathodic protection with dimensional control.
ASTM B633 sets the requirements for depositing metallic zinc onto iron or steel by electrodeposition. The result is a regular film that provides sacrificial protection and a clean finish on precision components.
In an acid or alkaline electrolytic bath, the part acts as the cathode. Pure zinc anodes dissolve under direct current and the ions transfer in a controlled way until the specified thickness is built up.
After deposition we apply a clear or blue passivate based on trivalent chromium compounds. The resulting “bright zinc” is attractive, slightly bluish and suitable for indoor use or low to medium corrosivity environments.
